Existence 2/2014This issue of the anarchistic revue “Existence” focuces on the 200th anniversary of birth of the famous Russian anarchistic revolutionary Michail Bakunin. Thus ČSAF joins (besides other projects) the call to dedicate the year 2014 to this personality, announced by the International of Anarchistic Federations.

Within the scope of the main topic we bring an essay reminding the great personalities of the movement; Bakunin’s biography documenting the development of his ideas and attitudes written by the philosopher Václav Tomek; Paul Avrich’s translation of the text Bakunin’s Legacy dealing with Bakunin’s influence on revolutionary thinking of the 20th century; and finally a journey over the places connected with Bakunin.

Next topic of this issue is the anarchistic movement in Belarus. It starts with an extensive and readable article on the organizational efforts and activities of anarchists of this country during the 90ties of the last century. The topic continues by an excerpt from the book “On the Way to Magadan” by the imprisoned Belarussian anarchist Igor Oliněvič, the book is about to be published by Nakladatelství ČSAF in Czech translation. An interview with members of the Revolutionary Action of Belarus focuses then on recent development, the form of anarchistic movement and the state repression.

The column “Theory” brings a translation of Gabriel Kuhn’s article “Anarchism, postmodern and post-structuralism”.

A review of activities of the local antiautho-ritarian movement is brought by a regular column “Kvartál”, as well as an article about eviction of a squat in Prague, Neklanova street, accompanied by events supporting the activists prosecuted in connection with this matter.
