ExistenceThis issue of the anarchistic revue Existence focuses on war as the main topic. However, it is obvious that such a topic cannot be fully covered on just a few pages. The introductory article presents the anarchist point of view: solidarity with the victims, revolutionary defeatism, the concept of capitalist war and peace. Next, a book by Oskar Krejčí is introduced, dealing with the general concept of war. Events in Ukraine are commented on in a declaration by Ukrainian anarchists and in a commentary on the four levels in this conflict. Noam Chomsky points out the relation of the Israeli attacks on Gaza and Western hypocrisy in this matter. An article on the 15th anniversary of the Czech Republic joining NATO ponders the real purpose of this militaristic alliance, yet another article describes the background of NATO intervention in Libya in 2011.

The main topic is followed by a remembrance of the beginning of the WWI, which was connected with assassination on the heir to the Habsburg throne by a young revolutionary influenced by anarchist ideas. History not so distant is being described in a narrative by Moshe Goncharok “From the Memories of a Jewish Anarchist” about his anarchistic youth in the Soviet Union in the 80ies.

Two interviews are to be found on the pages of Existence as well. First one with Tomás Ibáñez, the author of Anarquismo es movimiento. The other one with Ota Bureš on the past and contemporary protests in China.

We will introduce a Turkish factory Kazova, which was overtaken by the workers into self-management, and the theoretical column opens the topic of polyamory and queer anarchism.

In the regular sections ČSAF and VAP introduce their attitude towards various streams of anarchism. ABC ponders the purpose of police anti-conflict teams. There is also a page prepared by the FNB activists. The Kvartál column is a traditional review of the events of the local anti-authoritarian movement in the last quarter, and the final part of the magazine consists of reviews of HC/punk zins, the magazine “Revoluční boj” and the books “Tekutý dohled” and “Ekonomičtí disidenti”.
